Another Cabarrus County resident is coming forward with concerns about the Cabarrus County Animal Control shelter and staff. Recently, a county resident had her cat euthanized before she had the chance to reclaim her.

Thousands of fans packed the newly expanded Dowdy-Ficklen stadium on Sunday as the ECU Pirates took on Tulsa's Golden Hurricane. Seven-thousand new seats were added to the stadium. Which means the stadium can now seat 50,000 people.

SPCA of Wake County offers sale for special needs pets

In addition to being homeless many surrendered pets within the animal shelter system have additional physical and emotional needs. Over the Labor Day weekend the SPCA is offering adoptive parents a 'Labor of Love' special if they take these pets home.

The beginning of the new school year marks the opening of two brand new schools paid for with money from the 2008 bond referendum. Jamestown Middle and Haynes-Inman Education Center opened their doors to students just weeks ago.
